LP to disc via computer 11/2/06

Could anyone tell me please how to transfer music from an LP record to a cd disc via my computer XP windows .Thankyou in advance.

easy dodds--but depends on ur record deck--it needs to have two phono plugs for output--1st download a program called audacity--its free and from here -- then u connect ur record deck to ur line in socket in ur computer--u will probably need to do this thru a pre-amplifier (Cost about �20)--a small box that boost the signal from ur record deck which is normally very weak and gets amplied usually in ur hi-fi setup--when u play a record u should hear it thru ur pc speakers--just a matter then of running audacity in record mode--remember to choose line in when setting source in audacity and u can also set up a folder to save it to
