i have just aquired an epson stylus colour 440 printer & want to run it on windows xp. i can get a driver for 2000 but not xp. i know nothing about drivers so pls keep it simple . thanks

look it up on this site, they seem to have most things.i ussually save the driver to my docs an if small enough put it on a floppy as back up. hope this helps.

Select 'driver and software downloads' - on this next page you will find drivers version 5.0a for XP and the status monitor which will tell you how much ink etc.

First of all try just plugging it in to your PC. I presume it's a USB printer. XP is very ggod at detecting drivers and it might just detect and install the driver without any input from you.

If that doesn't work you can get the XP driver and instructions from the EPSON WEBSITE. Probably the first place to look.

I've just checked the site. Your printer is listed and so is the XP driver and very detailed instructions on how to download and install it.

thanks for the help people, however i have jus tdiscovered that the USB parallel connector i bought isn't suitable for XP. so will have to searching for that now!

Do you mean you are converting USB to parallel ?

Surely the PC has both a parallel port and USB to match whatever the printer has ?
