If you don't mind getting involved in the illegal world of file sharing, they are both good. Torrents are fast, but limited in range - e-donkey can be very slow, but you can find a wider range of files.
its worth noting that there are many good, legitimate uses for BitTorrent.

BitTorrent is both the name of a protocol (rules on how to share the files over the internet), and a program (called the client) that actually does the downloading. the best (in my opinion anyway) client for BitTorrent is called Azureus. As for legitimate uses, you can download Open Office:

with BitTorrent, which helps everyone at the same time. You can also download most of the GNU/Linux distro's with BitTorrent too.

v9tz, please do not associate illegal stuff for free, with actual good _free_ software. there are many, many programs out there that are both free and excellent. Open Office, as I link to above, is just one of them.
bit torrent limited in range ? not in my experience.
E-donkey's server (Razorback2) was siezed today by a joint Belgian and Swiss police operation. So you can forget that one......

There are many things available on file sharing which includes many open access files and videos, bitTorrents are often used by web sites to distribute things for free, whereas programs like Limewire on P2P usually are accessing files held on other peoples computers and it is these which are often illegal downloads and which might have bad stuff included and incidentally can often not be the file-movie-MP3 that it purports to be.

Hey fo3nix have you upset v9tz lately?

What smorodina said! Torrents are great, but tend to be short-lived. eDonkey has much better longevity, but can be slow.

The Razorback server was one of many eDonkey servers, so its loss is not the end of the network.
thanks for the nice words v9tz.

"You don`t get anything for free (even if they claim it is)"

I was simply commenting on what you said, as it is incorrect. Sorry if you found that offensive.
