Even the nasty ones only damage the data on the drive itself. Actually the CIH virus is an exception, but that only triggers on April 26 so you've got plenty of time to check for it.
If you really want to spend cash getting it checked, then any local computer shop should be able to do that, but considering most will charge �60/hour (in the UK) it'd be a lot cheaper just to make sure your anti-virus is upto date.
