I have a laptop that is not putting the http:// bit automatically at the begining after I type in a web address.

E.g. everytime I want to type in <A target='_blank' href=&quot;http://www.google.co.uk&quot;>www.google.co.uk</A> I have to type <A target='_blank' href=&quot;http://google.co.uk&quot;>http://google.co.uk</A>.

Help, it's driving me mad!

Sorry the above bit should read www.google.co.uk

and http://www.google.co.uk

Hope it worked and you get the gist of it.

it should automatically put the http:// bit in once you press enter after typing www.google.com

I know it should but it doesn't and I don't know why either although I'm sure there is a toggle somewhere but I can't find where.

Try CTRL-Enter.

Have you looked in Internet Options/Advanced and In-Line Auto Complete? I don't have it ticked and it still works!
