i recently got a samsung VD 351 i camcorder, and i want to connect it to my computer, but the instructions say my cam has firewire something cable. I dont have a firewire port on my PC and i have nowhere to put a card. Does anyone know how i can transfer the data via USB.

Well if the camera only has a firewire port, then I don't see any way in which you can use USB. Hav you realy filled every expansion port on your PC?
well had much the same problem recently. Turns out there are very few cams that can be connected to comp with usb lead. they are not very compatible at all. There is cables that you can buy which are basically adaptors and cost about 30 quid. I solved my prob by taking it back to shop, shelling out another 200 quid and getting a JVC hard disk drive cam. just about the only one plugs directly via usb and goes to moviemaker.
