Internet Connection Advice Please
9 Answers
Can you help me? My mum's computer is in her small bedroom and she wants to connect to internet. The nearest phone socket is in the next bedroom - can you tell me if I she can just run a telephone extension cable from one bedroom through to the computer room and use that to connect to internet. She's nearly 80 and doesn't want the cost or hassle of paying to have a proper phone extension box put on the wall in her small bedroom ? Thank you

You can buy a roll up extension lead from all over the place. I got mine at B & Q.
If you go for one of these and keep winding it up they tend to have a mind of their own and get shorter and shorter as time goes on. (and very curly!!!)
A permanent extension cable would be better if someone could put it into place.
Dollie I got an extension lead at ASDA and it runs from downstairs to ma bedroom. It's flat and that means I can shove it down the side of the carpet and it doesn't protrude. It comes on a reel and you can run out as much as you want. I can't mind on the exact cost but it's about a tenner or less for 15m which is about 50 foot. You can get leads that are round and cheaper but you have to be careful about trailing leads that yir Mum might trip over.
