Go to start, run, type msconfig, select the startup tab, look in the list of programs for msn messenger and uncheck it. Apply your settings and restart the computer. When the box for configuration utility comes up chech the box to not show this again.
or, when MSN opens up, click tools > options and if it's the latest version click the general tab and unselect "automatically run messenger when I log on to Windows". If that doesn't help for your version, go into help and search for "startup", that should give you something to go on.
Start MSN Messenger and look at Tools - Options - and then the General tab There are certain things you should have UN-CHECKED there that would affect the way MSN messenger behaves at startup....commoner.
search for "start up" (as two words) actually and it should have something about stopping it loading automatically.
...mmm...LOL......Just a minute behind you s.c.......must be getting slow on the keyboard....commoner <G>
