Using my laptop abroad

Hi,

Please don't laugh at me but I'm not a technie, and ask for your patience as I ask my question.

When using my laptop I normally access the internet via wireless network, and thought I'd be able to do this when I go on holiday. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have a wireless lan for me to access. Or Internet connection in the room.

Do you know what I need to buy and what i need to do to use my laptop for business when I'm on holiday. I need to keep on top of my mailbox for escalations etc
