How do I save clips from DVDs as MPEG/MPG/WMA?mp4 etc onto your PC

Another question I asked a while ago but didn't get an answer was when you take a DVD screenshot the picture moves with the DVD and when you take it out it goes black, how do I stop this?

I use win XP, power DVD, and win media player 10

You can use various programs to convert from DVD to mpeg. Search google for keywords such as "dvd convert mpeg".

For capturing images from a DVD, power DVD should come with an option built in to capture. Do this rather than taking a screen capture via an image editing program.
You'll need some sort of "ripper" to extract video from commercial DVDs, though if you have a video input card it might be possible to use this. Take a look at www.videohelp.com for lots of info.

Re the screenshot, is it the version of PowerDVD that came with your computer? Quite often they will come with a "cut down" version that doesn't do screenshots properly...

Yeah, DVD Shrink. Brilliant app and easy to use. I think wideboy reccomended it to me a few months ago.
