I seem to be port scanned every few hours by either US Dept of Defense Network Information Center, or Halliburton Corp or Houston. Is anyone else having the same experience, or am I a terrorist suspect in the eyes of Uncle Sam? Who is getting more paranoid, me or the poor old USA?!!

how do you know its actually them who are doing it.

Its very easy nowadays to get a domain registered under a false name, and then pass the buck for your dastardly deeds onto someone we all hate anyway.

My little guardian angel program once told me 'Lays potato chips' was trying a port scan!

I went by what the firewall was backtracing to. I also did a search on Google and found lots of references to DoD scanning in forums too technical for me to comprehend, which seemd to say that it WAS Dept of Defense. Not been pinged yet, but only on Net 20 mins so far today!
So I have this same exact situation. My ports are being scanned on a regular basis by the DoD and Halliburton. I changed my IP address but that didn't change the problem. Does anyone know what kind of information they could be obtaining from my computer?
