Incredimail... email trouble!!!

I downloaded this about a month ago because i like the emoticons etc... however i didnt think it would affect my mail AOL emails... however since i have had Incredimail all my new emails go to the Incredimail Inbox. I want them to go back to my AOL inbox. Does this mean i will have to delete Incredimail from my computer and then it will all go back to normal?! Please help!!!! Blonde and not very computer literate... speak slowly lol thanks xxx

You can set Incredimail to leave a copy of the messages on the email server, so they will be downloaded within AOL as well.

In Incredimail:

• Select Tools > Accounts...


• Highlight the desired account.


• Click Properties.


• Go to the Advanced tab.


• Make sure Leave a copy of messages on server is selected.


• Click OK.


• Click Close.

This should still download messages to Incredimail, but also leave them available for AOL to download.

You must have Incredimail set as your default email program. To change back to AOL it needs resetting - start/settings/control panel/internet options/programs. Select AOL as your default program and click apply.

You don't have to delete Incredimail.

Not sure but I think Mouseo_o's method will only work if you are using the Premium version.

Should be ok with the basic free-to-download version, that's the one I've always used.

hiya thanks for answers...however i do not want emails to go into the incredimail inbox at all. i want them to automatically go into my aol inbox. I am not bothered about having the incredimail anymore so if i delete it (and how would i do that!?) will the emails automaticcaly go into aol?? im confused!!!! thanks

I'm not sure there's a feature to import Incredimail emails into AOL, but I doubt it very much. You could forward to yourself all the emails you want to keep and pick them up in your AOL inbox though, just go through the method I've described in my first reply before you do, otherwise they'll just end up back in Incredimail and deleted from the server again!

To get rid of Incredimail, just go to Start > Control Panel, and into Add/remove programs. Find Incredimail in the list and click the option to remove it. You'll get the option of whether or not to keep your message store, but it's not much use without a copy of Incredimail on your system.

Or, if you just want to stop Incredimail from starting up when you switch on your computer, click Start > All Programs and find the Startup folder. Click on Incredimail in there with the right mouse button, and click Delete from the resulting menu. This won't remove Incredimail from your system, but it will prevent it from starting up automatically and retrieving email. You can then go back into it when you like to look at those old messages.

I thought that was what you were after so try as I suggested and reset AOL as your default email program. Send a email to yourself to see if it works. It ought to.

If you still wish to delete Incredimail - start/settings/control panel/add remove programs - you can delete it from there.
