System not restore
2 Answers
I did a really stupid thing, during a system restore, I pressed something and it meant I lost all my restore points (The ones inbold) so I only have restore points from April 1st, Tried everything undoing last restore, but nothing, My desktop is completely different, and Iam in despair that my cd library collection in windows media player has vanished, My music files are empty, and they are not in the recycle bin, where are they? Iam pretty much a novice on the p.c.but any advice would be much appreciated. Iam on Windows xp home edition.Does it mean I have to re-install Windows media player 10 and start all over again ripping my c.d.s, That seems to have been uninstalled even though it was on it when I got it. thanks....

Have you tried clicking on the "System restore settings link" in the left hand window pane of the "system restore" window? You may have turned off system restore or removed a system restore volume on the hard drive
Sorry caramba22242 I didn't notice your reply till I pressed on next on my questions, Yes my son did a search for my music but it has gone, stupid me probably deleted it all with one fail swoop, the last restore I did put my system back to a time prior to me installing windows media player, and although I tried to undo that, it wouldn't let me, as I said message kept saying system restore suspended, because I only had about 40mb and it said I needed 200mb minimum, My son says 6gb of your hard drive is used up for system restore, but Iam scared now if I ever need to do one (A System restore) I will lose everything again, I promise from now on I will not touch things I shouldn't, because I have so learned my lesson, Thank you for your help and for taking the time to post an answer, people on the answerbank are so friendly and helpful.
