I have just downloaded the free version of this and it is mind-blowing. Thing is, it does not say where you are!I was flying over terrain (I just spun it and let it fly in one direction) and had no idea where I was. And thre seemed to be no way of finding out! Anyone got any ideas?

Hi. You can add roads and borders to you globe by simply checking the box's on the left hand side. This gives you some more info on where you are. If your not sure then just zoom out a little.

Further to kev's reply - it's a fascinating website!

Could even see the orchard at the end of our garden & the conservatory on the back of our old house!

i had a job viewing a lot of places, when i zoomed in, it just blurred. Why was this? I couldn't see any of my home town. I was very dissapointed.Apart from this, i think it is fantastic.

Jules- not all of it is in focus yet!! If you go to places like London or New York ot famous landmarks it is all there. I guess they are just doing it all as fast as they can, but prioritising!
Yeah, but smudge can see her back garden, and i want to see mine!! ;-) get your point though! thanks, weren't sure if it was just me!
I also could not previously see my house clearly. However a previous answer that had been given on this site, said to click off the terrain box. I did this and now can see a brilliant picture of my house, even the bin in the backgarden!
