Windows Task Manager

it used to have a bar across the top saying "processes" "applications" etc but now they're gone. How can I get them back?

Double click on the border of the window. for example the gray space above the word Task.

This has an easy, but definitely not an intuitive, solution.

Open Task Manager and then double click anywhere in the area outside the blue square and inside the outer edge of the Task Manager window.

If you want to go back to what you have now, just double click in the same area again.
