Playstation 2 games - Recommendations

As an appendage to my where can I get a good playstation 2 (and what do I need to buy) question.

What games can you recommend that are similar to Alice, Bolder's Gate, Myst/Riven etc.

I'm afraid you are doing things in the wrong order.
You should find out about the games first, find out what machine they run on, and then buy the machine required.

If you meant "Baldur's gate", I don't think you will find that kind of game on PS2. There is one called "Baldur's gate: dark alliance", but it's an action game, so definately not the same kind of game.
I don't know about the other 2 games you mention.

To find good games, I use websites such as
www.gamerankings.com
and
www.gametab.com
They have a database of games for you to search, with various criteria, each game has a mark ( a percentage ) which is a good indication of how good the game is.
Above 85 % means you should give it a try.
I think you can search for specific game genres too..

If you really want to buy a console, you might have to go for genres your husband isn't used to. ( Consoles don't have mice, and this restricts the possibilities. )
But then why buy a console?
I found that portable consoles are much more suitable than standard consoles when living as a couple ...

Theres not much about on the PS2 at the moment. Developers are waiting for the PS3. Most of the games you mention dont realy work too well on a console. There was talk of a Myst type game but I don't think it came to anything.
