I got a Dell laptop for Xmas and cannot use Excel I looked in System Information & under Office 10 there are Excel and various other programs(?) .By the side it says that Excel or the others are not installed. Can anyone tell me how can I install them ( in simple terms please)

Was excel part of the package that came with your laptop? Alot don't have Microsoft Office installed, they come with Microsoft Works instead. If you definately should have Office installed, do you have a CD that came with your laptop?

Thanks CheekyChops for your answer.I don't think it did come with the laptop. How can I find out? I have a set of Office XP for Students & Teachers CDs which I bought for my PC (Windows ME) when I was at college. Can I safely install them on my laptop? Thanks in advance.
