music downloads - legal/illegal

what would people recommend as the best site to download music from for use on an MP3 player and to burn to cds? i don't mind payng but just want it to be quic and hassel free.

also what are the impications of using an illegal site such as kazzaa...there was lots of stuff in the news but what is the likelyhood of the poilce turning up on my doorstep and arresting me for 'illegal' downloads?

i have read some of the other answers posted concerning this but feel that no-one has answered this questions suffienciently yet.

i am now a reformed illegal downloader. after purchasing an ipod i now use itunes for everything, and at 79p a track it hardly breaks the bank n is totally legal! I used to use limewire, kazzaa etc but found them to be very unreliable n such a hassle waiting for them to find people to download from etc. hope this helps

It's sometimes difficult to download tracks that don't have the DRM protection in them, I spent a good time downloading a song from a well known supermarket download site and after paying my 79p my mp3 play couldn't play it and windows on my computer wouldn't play it for a few minutes until it had "backed up the licences".....total waste of time.....

There are however lots of places that don't have the DRM protection built in but you'll probably have to pay a small fee every month for those.

do u have Chinese friends? u can ask them to help u surf the Chinese searching wedsites and download the music~~~it may be legal~~~ ^ ^
