public phone box emailing / internet / texting

I've never seen anybody use one of these phone boxes.

Has anyone out there used one.

I used one around 4 years ago to check my web based email account whilst on a weekend break. Nothing particularly exciting - it worked (just) wasn't particularly user friendly, but have used worse!

Wouldn't have wanted to use it for more than 5 minutes though.

Could have gone to an internet cafe if I had known there was one around (and would have prefered to).

I've used them in the past more often than not simply to kill some time while waiting for somebody. They are pain however as the kyboards are rubbish because they need to be strong and are therefore made of metal which doesn't lend itself to keyboards.

Also they block lots of sites because of questionable content, even ones which are safe simply because of the odd key word.
