Whats an NFO File and why can't i open them?

I keep downloading stuff from the net with instructions written on NFO files. But when i click on them my comp. tells me 'the system information cannot open this file. It may be corrupted or an unrecognized version.


Im taking it that its not corrupted because i get this message every time. So how can i get my system to recognize it?

Right click on the file, select "Open With" and then "Notepad". You may have to change the font to "Fixedsys" to display the file correctly.
