My mums gandson who is 7 (Sisters Child) went on to her AOL when he last came over, He wanted to look at his E-mails from his school as it was the holidays, little did my mum know that he went on to the world wide wrestling site and joined something that entitled him to watch wrestling for that 2 hrs he was there, unfortunately for my mum she now keeps getting reminders to pay a subscription fee that she never had they say as they have her ip address and they will go to collectors for the american dollars that she owes, Is she liable !!!

I wouldn't have though an ip address would allow them to identify her - certainly not in terms of sending collectors round to get money.

Did he actually purchase anything? Or is it a subscription to an on-going service?

I don't want to appear patronising, but 7 year olds really should not be unsupervised for e-mails - he must be on the www to get them.

my mum was up stairs i think at the time he did it all she new was this payment thing through her ip address, dont worry i sorted the internet thing out now the only thing he can access is teely tubbys now, but my mum is really worried

He couldnt have paid for anything surely - how?? And if he didnt pay then then cant collect anything can they.

He is your nephew by the way.

I shouldn't worry, they would not have allowed him any access on a paid basis if they were not given credit card details and if it was a trial basis, they are trying it on. Ignore it.
