How do I get this symbol | on a standard keyboard

I am trying to find the method of getting this symbol | located to the left of the number 1 keay on a standard keyboard, I have tried all the usual shift etc to no avail, I can only manage to get ` or �. please help!!!

Thanks for your answer so quickly but I have managed to get the one you describe. I am trying to get the solid line usually used for dividing navigation text on websites..
How about Shift and \ . |||||| Works on mine!

Thanks again, I have actually now found it, I tried the Shift / but got ?. I Have since tried your original symbol of � with the shift key and got it, see |||||||||||
Glad you found what you wanted.
Incidentally, on most windows systems you can still use the character map to find odd symbols.
