Connecting PC to TV

With our AOL account, we have the facility to download new movies to watch on our PC (similar to the Blockbuster home delivery thing, but you download the movies onto your computer)

However, our monitor is not of a high enough quality to watch movies on (nor is our study big enough to squeeze in three people huddled around said monitor!)

I am just wondering if there is any way of linking up our computer to our TV so we can watch them that way? (The TV is about 6 months old) Are there cables you can get to do this? Any ideas?

most TV's can conect to computers, however, most computers dont have a second video out (otherwise you would have to disconnect your monitor all the time). if your TV has an input like this then you can

You can buy a graphics card with a Composite Video out for around 35 from most PC outlets. Look for this
then you can just connect the two straight up.

You will also need to connect the sound, just use the headphone socket with a lead like this

It's unlikely to be to do with you monitor, TV's have a much lower resolution than even the most basic monitors so the limitation is likely to be with your PC or graphics card.
