Does anybody know of a program (free or sharewere) that can convert avi files to Mpeg or DVD?

why would you want to ? avi should play fine in media player and also convert to dvd format.

Because some vid clips of mine do not play on a DVD player, and I am trying to make a sort "of best" music videos that I can watch down stairs on the DVD player.

but avi should burn to a watchable dvd format using nero no problems.
