medion 19" monitor

Aldi have a Medion 19" monitor as a special from the 11th May.The spec seems good, does anyone own one of these and if so is it a good buy.�179 reduced from original offer.

I have had absolutely no problems with 4 year old medion monitor - that was cheap at the time too and good spec.

If I wanted a 19" monitor I would not hesitate to buy that one.

While I have no problem with Medion stuff, the prices for 19" TFTs have dropped a lot and �179 is now not a great bargain as others are available at that price.

For example here is an ACER 19" widescreen from Novatech at �186.

My main concern with buying from ALDI is what if it goes wrong, will they be able to replace it.

If you buy from say Novatech they will at least be able to replce it if it goes wrong.

Hi, thanks for your replies.I had thought about a widescreen but my video card won't support it and most of the cards now seem to be pci express which I don't have on my motherboard,but it would be nice.I don't think replacement would be a problem as Aldi seem to sell the Medion exclusivly.The monitor is not advertised on the Medion site so I presume Aldi is their only outlet and would not help the image if the aftersales were bad.

Toys R Us are another Medion equipment stockist. I have seen some of the desktop PC's and laptops sold in Aldi also on sale in Toys R Us.
I don't know if they have all the stuff stocked by Aldi for sale, but it may be worth checking.

Hi, to all who answered my initial question re Aldi monitor, do you know what the refresh rate is please as it is not stated in the ad nor can I find it elsewhere.
