Winfix

Can anyone tell me what the winfix or winfixer virus is? I have been on myspace twice in the last week looking at blogs and a window has bobbed up saying something about winfix(er). My antivirus kicks in straight away and sorts it out but im wondering where it is coming from. The first time I saw it I was on someones page that I didnt know so assumed they may have put it there themselves, but the second time I was on a good friends page so I know it isnt deliberate. Could it be in the adverts that are on the page?

Something is trying to get you to buy Winfix!! If you google Winfix and have a look at some of the headings you will get an idea of what is going on.

DON'T visit winfix.com - that doesn't sound like a good idea!!!!!

As above answer do not go on the winfix site, it took me an hour to delete all references to it when I did!

It is a scam to get you to buy something you don't want.

When my daughters on her Piczo pages (similar to Myspace) Winfix often pops up. It's really annoying to get rid of. I wondered if it was a scam. Glad I found your question!
