Problem with new mobile phone

Hi everyone, I have just brought a new Motorola Pebl phone and have a problem, I've just put my 02 sim card in the phone and I have 9 messages saved to the sim card. Because of this my Pebl says Messages Full and there doesn't seem any way of saving the messages to the phone instead. Short of deleting the messages which I really don't want to do, I don't know what to do can anyone help please. I like the phone so returning it is a final option!!!!

There must be a way to move your messages to your phone!! Cant you go back to the phone shop they may be able to show you how to move the messages from SIM to phone!!

No I've tried phoning the helpline number that came with the phone and they didn't know but said they'd get back to me but haven't and O2 rang through to Motorola for me and they said they didn't know either. I think I'm just going to have to delete the messages and start from scratch and hope the phone just saves all messages to the phone now.
