I'm considering buying a DVD recorder that includes freeview in the machine. It's a Panasonic DMR-ES20V
Has anybody got one of these and can you record onto DVD from video tape?
Also, I checked on the phone for Freeview reception in this area and was told that it was ok but I'd need a Wideband ariel. How do I know if I've already got one of these?
Or, has anybody bought one and how much was it? Any help/advice appreciated. Thanks.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Can't answer on the machine, as I have a video/DVD recorder combined which cost me about 165 - a Daewoo from Currys. For the price I paid it is top quality, and can copy Video to DVD and Vive versa, and record on one (video) while watching a DVD. Like everything of this sort, it just gets cheaper and cheaper.
However, regarding Freeview, I have it, and use an aerial that has been in the loft since the 60's, and it is fine. I do have a signal booster as well (about 20) but that's only because my PC has Freeview, and I need to boost the signal for the two. If I were you, I'd get Freeview first and try it before forking out for the aerial.

I bought a DMRES15 from them 2 weeks ago.
Recording from VHS is easy, just plug the VHS player into the back of the DVD recorder and press play on the VHS player and record on the DVD recorder.
