I have been advised that adobe premier elements 2 is a good video package - can anyone advise me please.

yeah it's very good for a beginner, it's basically a cut down version of Adobes Premiere video editing software, however as the full version is around the �600 mark Adobe released a version which will suit most home users.

PS. Premiere Elements 2 is very good but only runs on certain processors!! (Version 1 was ok on all).

Rather than shell out for a new package, why not try Windows Movie Maker, which is included with XP? (The newer version, supplied with SP2, is far superior to the original).


It's not the greatest, and many people hate it on the grounds that it's a Microsoft product, but it'll give you a start on creating movies. You'll be able to see if it's something you want to get into at no extra cost.

Windows Movie Maker V2 is very good (especially the titling) but it doesn't let you record the final DVD.
