Im sure pretty much all of us have an eBay horror story to tell so i want bore anybody with mine

but why oh why cant eBay have some kind of better protocol in place for weeding out non paying winning bidders or even eBay should honour the winning bid if he/she doesnt pay then have a seperate dept to deal with it and reclaim the money like any other big company does

its just faceless profiteering

eBay and McDonalds are the horrible face of Capitalism/Democracy where money comes before all else. Non-paying bidders are just a hazard of using eBay, I personally love it, but it could ans hsould be run better. Ever tried to sort out a problem with them? Try speaking to someone, its impossible. All we can do is protect ourselves by banning bidders with say less than 5 rating on our sales, and keep reporting them. Keeping a close eye at the end of an auction.(Choose an end time when you know you are around, and try to cancel any dodgy bidders before the auction ends). They do say it is a contract, but with the law as it stands, it is too expensive and arduous to pursue non-payers.

eBay is a well known thorn in the side of anyone who uses it (except those who abuse). Try an alternative anti-eBay site such as www.eBid.co.uk
If you have a non paying bidder Qmark you can claim the final selling fee back........ If you go into My ebay and click on the drop down menu on the Items I've Sold (If they have not paid the menu will be showing either 'send invoice' or 'mark as payment received') and click on 'Report an unpaid item' . eBay will then send out a reminder, if they ignore you get your fee back and they receive a 'strike' against their name. Usually you will get some excuse from the buyer saying their computer was down or similar (which can happen) and you get paid. Unfortunately there are plenty of time wasters out there but you will find these no matter which site you use.
I always check ebid (www.ebid.co.uk) alongside ebay, its a buyer's market on there, too many bidders on ebay meaning prices go up every day!
