a word of warning for anyone tempted to switch ISPs to talktalk and their speeded-up broadband speed. i switched. and i'm still on a slow 2.2 megs. same as my former ISP. i rang talktalk and was told they'd get round to their "up to 8 megs" offer sometime but didn't know when. a misleading offer? i'd say so. anyone else had problems with these people?

touche. theoretically you have a point. but i doubt the consumer authorities would buy it.

My advice: don't switch. Call centre appallingly slow. Kept waiting ages or the line simply goes dead. I have had so many problems (described here and in other talktalk related questions) that i have informed them that they are in breach of contract. In fairness, they have agreed to correct the problem or to give full refund. The BBC news item this morning has certainly hit home.
