It is possible but you need a lot of hard drive space and you need to buy a piece of kit and software to do it
You would be better off getting a dvd recorder at a cost of about �80 and copy them to dvd you can get 6hrs on one disk and some models do 8 hrs then you will have the use of the dvd recorder for life

I totally agree with djc45. Unless you have a high spec computer and the extras for capturing analogue signals, it is just more bother than it's worth. I wouldn't transfer at 6 hrs recording time though.
The quality is reduced at longer recording times and above two hours settings shows a significant drop due to the compression of the video signal to squeeze more onto the disc.
