does anyone know how much you have to earn before tax and national insurance to get a salary of �11,532 after tax etc has been deducted? (or can anyone direct me to an online calculator?)

To earn �11,532 net pa, a person with Tax Code 503L and no additional deductions (pension etc.) would need to earn �14,346 gross pa (�1195.50 gross pm).
