I made a Buddy Holly warhol style picture by converting a portrait of BH to black & white (no shades of grey) in a photo program and making it fill an A4.

Print it or photocopy it multiple times on the dull side of acetate transparencies (designed for overhead projectors).

Use acrylic paints on the dull side to block in areas of colour - I used blue & yellow and mixed for green - experiment ! I used small sponges rather than a brush.

Turn the transparency to shiny side up and mount alonside multiple slightly varied copies.

I saw this on a makeover programme - with a good picture, the effect is brilliant !

i opened a photo a friend sent me in Microsoft office picture manager & then just messed around with the colour & brightness & contrast from the view menu. Obviously you would need Office to do this but it's simple & very Warholesque
Or, if you're using a computer anyway, you could use the GIMP which is free and much better than using ms office..
