Uninstall asks for installation CD

I want to uninstall a program, but when I try to do this I'm asked to insert the installation CD. I have it, but not with me. Is there any way round this?

I have Windows XP.

I have Windows XP Home. I am using Add and Remove Programs in Control Panel. Is it different in Windows XP Professional?

Probably no. One other way manufacturers stop you borrowing CDs from friends. Try downloading Microsoft's PowerToys - TweakUI and see if its Add/Remove is any better.
