ok this is what i have regarding anti-virus
ad-aware se personal
norton antivirus
mcafee antivirus
spybot search and destroy
avast anti virus

what do i keep what do i get rid of? i payed for bought only norton anti virus

If you were willing to start again, then keep ad-aware personal and uninstall everything else. incidentally, do you not have any firewall software, or are you just using the default windows app?

then install AVG Free for virus protection and zonealarm firewall or kerio personal firewall.

I bought the whole norton internet security program and got so sick of it that i scrapped it with 2/3 of the subscription left. So in my opinion norton sucks. Try using "crap cleaner", it cleans your registry and the spyware, malware, and other useless stuff from your system. As for the antivirus, I use avast but thats so far the only thing i can find that will work on a 64 bit system.

Oh yea, as for the firewall i use ghostwall.

Ive heard avg highly recommended by many people but never tried it.
