When I open up a MS Word document, it wiil only open up leaving a gap of about .5" from the top of the screen. All other documents including Excel open up to a full screen.
Any ideas what is causing this?
Cheers dave.

Have a look at your header settings - it may be set to a large margin by default.
not quite sure what you're asking, but...
check the top right corner of your window. There are 3 symbols there. On the right is an X (to close the window), on the left there is a _ (to minimise the window to the tray) and in between in either a square, or 2 overlapping squares. This toggles between full screen and tile. If it's just one square, click it for full screen.

No it's not the document within the application, It's the window itself. Sorry did not make it very clear!
Every window/application opens up to full screen except Word. I'm baffled!!!
do as i said then.
or just double click the blue bar at the top.
In my version of Word, it will open full screen (ie. maximised) if it was shut down while maximised. If you 'restore down' before you close the file (or Word) then it will open in a reduced window. Want to try it?

I have tried all these things. I can't get the window to open up to the full screen to shut down maximised. The window is full screen width, but will not go to the top of the screen. I have tried dragging, opening and shutting down but nothing works. I could understand it a bit if it were all windows but it is only Word!!!
