Hi all, i have a PC that the kids use to play games and use the net , they use a guest account, with only the basic admin rights, my eldest wanted me to download an online RPG game for him, which i did no proplem on my account as it has full admin rights, the trouble is he cannot access or play it on the guest account, does anybody know how i go about making it available on the guest account.. thanks,
Did it create a shortcut on your desktop when you installed the game? If so, right-click and cut it then paste it in the all users desktop folder (C:\documents and settings\all users\desktop). If not, then go to the game executable then right click send to desktop (create shortcut) then cut and paste it on the all users desktop. All users may be hidden so ensure you show all files/folders when you do this.
Your problem may be because you installed it under your admin account. XP keeps all the account's stuff separate. Depending on hoiw good the install routine is, it might take an awful lot more than a shortcut to make it work.
For future reference, what you should have done is to temporarily grant Guest admin rights, then download and install the game, then demote Guest. This is the simplest and most reliable way to get something installed.
