i have an integrated digital t.v. and a seperate dvd recorder.can anyone tell me how to tune my dvd recorder to pick up the digital channels so i can record them.can only record terrestrial tv ch1-5 and its a bad picture.

If you have a digital (Freeview) tv, then (unless your DVD recorder is also a Freeview tuner) you MUST have the tv on to record. As for set up, I'm at a loss to advise, as this would be down to makes and models involved. I would assume - given that both are fairly modern - each has an on screen help/guide to enable you to set it up. Most recorders these days seem to be plug in and play with auto set up.

However, one thing I do know, you need to connect the two using a scart lead via your AV sockets.
You need to set the recorder to record from its AV -in socket
Yes, that's right. You need to have the DVD recorded and the TV set connected by a SCART lead that does TWO-WAY communication, then the DVD recorded can record what the TV is receiving when you set the DVD input to 'AV'.
