Can anyone tell me whether you're allowed to use camcorders during a flight?And if not...why?

This is the reason given for not being able to use your mobile phone at all (even though the signals don't really interfere, but they're just making sure I guess).
Camcorders, iPods, cameras, etc. should all be usable on a plane flight. However, they're usually not allowed during take-off and landing because the flight crew want you to be concentration during these times, incase something happens. Also during the safety bit at the start of the flight too where they tell you the emergency exits.
As for not being able to film the luggage being loaded onto the plane, well that's probably down to some daft security concern.
