Weird Mobile Numbers

I keep getting random anonymous calls to my mobile and each time i return the call all i get is a strange ringing tone, really loud but it just rings out and out and out, what are these numbers and why are they calling my phone?? Its really bugging me now.

You'll probably find out when you get your next bill. This is a common scam. You get a missed call, even though your phone didn't actually ring, and when you return the call you actually ring a premium rate number. These numbers charge up to �10 per minute wit a minimum charge of several pounds.

No offence, but you must be a complete mug for returning a call to a number that you don't recognise. If someone genuinely wants to speak to you they will ring back.
