Long play video recorders
4 Answers
How does a long play video work? It is possible to play a LP recorded programme on a normal video but sometimes the quality is affected. But then surely this proves that the tape runs at the same speed?

LP mode records at a slower speed, thus the tape lasts longer, and the quality suffers. Most "normal" videos will automatically swicth to LP mode when you insert a tape which was recorded in that mode.
