How do you attach file folder to Outlook Express?

When I'm sending an email and want to attach a whole file - upon attaching - the file opens and I only get the option to attach individual items within that file. Is it not possible to just attach the whole file please? My file is not large either! Many thanks!

Try compressing the file into a zip folder and then send it.
