Every time I start up I get a warning sign about new hardware being installed.Well,I haven't installed new hardware but I did do a bit of "fiddling around"last week whilst I was finding Outlook Express.
Is there any way I can stop this pop-up please ?

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System, then go to the Hardware tab and choose Device Manager. Is there anything in the list there with a yellow question mark or X on it?

Yes there are two yellow question marks against Other devices and Multimedia Audio Control
That is probably the hardware that it's having problems with ...

If you right-click on them and go to "Properties", does it tell you which bit of hardware these relate to?
The other thing you could try is restore it to a point before it starting displaying the message.

Go to

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

And see if there is a checkpoint available from last week, before the problems occurred... You can then restore your computer. This process won't lose any documents you created.

I have tried "System Restore"three or four times and, whilst I have got rid of the pop-up I am back to my original problem with Outlook Express Error 623 "The system could not find phone book entry for this connection".I had better explain that I have recently changed my ISP and want to go back to using OE.

On the Multimedia Audio Control it says that the device is not configured.I tried to reinstall driver but nothing happened.
