How do you find out what and if programs are still running when you are working on something else or when you close down and the comp tells you that something is still running. I appreciate that at times I could be forgetting to close a progam, but I would just like to run my own check as to what's going on. Thanks.

If you are using windows - open task manager. This will show all programs that are running.

To open task manager, right click on a blank bit of the bar at the bottom of your screen and select task manager.

When it has opened, select processes.

Under CPU you will see which programs are the most active.

Your system idle should be above 90% in normal usage.
