No sound... no audio driver detected.

My pc is saying that i have no audio driver... so im getting no sound coming out off my PC... ive tried everything! the audio driver i used to have (b4 it went missing) was called 'Realtek AC97'... ive searched it on google and downloaded the files i found.. and yet none of them work
any help would be greatly apprieciated....

b.t.w Im ... ok at computers... but not absolutly fantastic... so go easy on me!

Your problem suggests your audio gubbins are on the motherboard as opposed to them being on a seperate sound card. If this is the case Windows should be able to find the drivers for you. The only other cause I can think of is that your sound has been disabled in your BIOS. If you know how to, have a look, it's quite easy - also easy to make a mistake, so go easy.
Another thing you may care to try is to go to your Control Panel, double-clicking System - Hardware - Device Manager and tick the + next to the Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right-hand click the driver and click update.

Try looking for the motherboard drivers
( Try the MOBOs Manufacturers site )

The Realtek AC97 Audio drivers usually come with the motherboard drivers

well, for me i think easy solution would be using an automatic driver update software..you can check out the program Driver Detective on this site http://www.audio-drivers.net/
