Not sure what I have done but everytime I try and open a pdf it opens in notepad rather than in adobe. If I save the file and then open it in adobe it is fine but this is a bit of a pain.

Until recently pdf's used to open automatically in adobe, any ideas what I need to do to get my pc to do this automatically again?

Thanks in advance.

Right click on the file then select OPEN WITH then CHOOSE PROGRAM.

On the OPEN WITH window select Adobe Reader then click the Always use the Selected program to open this type of file

Then click the OK

This will link PDF files to Adobe Reader.

You can of course do this type of link to any file (DOC files to WORD for example)
Assume XP
Also MyComputer-Tools-FolderOptions-FileTypes find PDF in list Change to Adobe Reader.
All file type can be associated with their programs.

Thanks guys, really appreciate your help.
You can also go into Windows Exployer and click on your file and go to properties and change the program to whatever you want it to open in.
