Do all cordless phones not work in a power cut???

Can somebody tell me if all cordless phones do not work in a power cut??? Also I see they have rechargable batteries in them, do you ever need to replace these?? if so, what if you do not have a charger??

No, cordless phones wont work in a power cut - the base unit has to be plugged into the mains.

Yes, if you have rechargeable batteries then you will need to recharge them at some point - if you don't have a charger you will either have to buy one or replace them with ordinary bateries.
The base unit is a charger!

Thanks for your replies. I don't believe that you can put normal batteries in them, I could be wrong though.

Yes, you can put 'ordinary' batteries in them but NEVER put them on the charger. I would only use ordinary batteries in an emegency if the rechargeables are 'down'. It's worth having some spare rechargeables instead (and their own charger).

If you're lucky, rechargeables can last up to 5 years - use NiMh ones, not NiCad.
