dodgy sites with spyware adware etc

does it matter how long you are on a page for if you are idle? ie is the risk reduced significantly if you close the window as soon as you realise you have hit a dodgy site compared to leaving the window open and browsing in a new one?

Once you are on that site, the damage is done, but more damage will be done if you go clicking on links.
when you open a webpage, the files associated with that page are downloaded, such as pictures, sound files, hypertext, spyware etc. if you close the page before it has finished loading you may be able to spare yourself some damage
