The caller ID function on my Relate 1000 suddenly ceased to function on my NTL line, leading me to think that my phone had broken down . I bought a cheap replacement for the time being and it's fine. I managed to find another Relate 1000 and it was tested for me in the shop. When I plugged it in at home, the Caller ID would not work. I took both my 'duds' to my sons house where there is a BT line , and lo and behold there is nothing wrong with them at all. I had been using this phone on NTL for ages, could they suddenly have changed their caller ID signals or whatever. No one at NTL seems to care or understand what Im talking about, but it's so frustrating because the relate 1000 is the perfect caller ID phone for me.
